Image
I have heard so much about the Sun down hotel that I really wanted to read it but I was a little disappointed it was not as scary as I thought it was going to be and it was not as gripping either. The story is told by VilV in 1982 and Carly who her niece in the present day. Viv works at the sun down motel and weird things start to happen and she comes obsessed and starts to investigate things. Carly comes to Fell wanting to found out what happened to her aunt and she starts to work at the sun down motel. Carly makes friends and starts her own investigation. I give this book 4 stars

Legacy by Nora Roberts

Image
This is first time I read Nora Roberts book. I really enjoyed the characters but I felt like I got bit lost with what the plot was about. I ended up skipping some pages just to get past the chatting bits with her friends. I would say it had much suspense in it. I felt like the story was going on to much. I think the story could be bit shorter. I still would read more of Nora Roberts books but I was bit disappointed with this one. Thank you NetGalley and eARC for providing me with a copy of this book

The seven husbands of Evelyn by Taylor Jenkins Reid

Image
I really enjoyed the book. I thought it was a bit slow to begin with and wonder why everyone was talking about it but I understood as I got further in the book. The story about Evelyn who tells Monique reporter about her life being famous , her marriages and the love of her life. There was few twists in the book . I did not see coming. I would highly recommend the book. It’s about fame, love , loss, betrayal and money. I give this book 5 stars

The Pact by Amy Heydenrych

Image
I thought this book was ok but I felt like it did not need to be that long. The story is about Freya and she just started a new job and met Jay. Someone gets murdered and the story is round leading up to the murder and after the murder. Freya has not had easy time at her new job being bullied and hardly anyone talking to her there. The story was also so told by Isla who was reporting the murder and wanted to get to the bottom of what had happened. I felt the story was a bit slow and I was not  really gripped by it but it was ok read. I give this book 3 stars.

Go :One woman. One van. A new beginning by Stacy Fisher

I really enjoyed Stacy story and it made me what to buy a camper van and going travelling. This story is about loss, separation, spirituality and founding her self. It was great to read about her experiences on camping in her van . I felt like I was there with her. It was nice seeing the photos of her trip and the photos of the van when she brought it and when she kept adding things to the van to make it more liveable and comfortable. I think she was a very brave lady travelling on her own. The things she talked about was stuff I was interesting in yoga, nature , beach , massages and spiritual. Thank you NetGalley for letting me read this book.     I give this book 5 stars

The Lodge by Chris Coppel

Image
First  of all just wanted to say wow this book was not what I expected.. The murder s where very brutal. This story is about a lodge in Scotland round Christmas time. Guests go to the hotel and events happen and a police man went up to investigate but the snow was thick and he had to stay there with them until the snow went. This is horror story and the things that happened I did not see coming. I was shocked what happened to a few of the characters in the book who I liked. I think this book could been a bit shorter and I liked how you got to find out background on the four characters. Thank you NetGalley and Chris Coppel for letting me read this book.

The Push by Ashley Audrain

Image
This book is a family drama. I read this in one whole day. It was gripping and I could not put it down. I have heard everyone talking about this book which made me want to read. It left me at the end wanting more. I wanting to know what had happened it leaves you on bit of cliffhanger. This story tells you about Blythe how she is as mum about her own experience with her mum. Which you get flashbacks to Blythe childhood and her mums. This story is very dark and is upsetting in places. My heart really went out for Blythe due to the issues she was dealing with and being a mum. The chapters are very short and as soon as you read the first page you are drawn into the story. I recommend this book. I give this book 5 stars

The stolen ones by Vanessa Curtis

Image
** spoiler alert **  This book was picked by my book club. I really liked this book and it was easy read. I felt a lot of empathy for Kasia and what was going on in her life. The life she thought she had was real but was actually a lie. This story is historical fiction and talks about how Jewish people where treated by Hitler in the war. When the book ended I was disappointed because I wanted to know what happens to her next. I was left wondering how she got on in her next journey going back to Poland. I give this book 5 stars

This is the first time I have read a book by this author. At first I got confused who Marian and Constance was but it did not take me to long to work out who they where and how they where connected. The thin place had lots of different themes running through the book, child abuse, loss, belonging and animal abuse. This book concentrate on three people telling there stories from different points of view. This book has mystery and suspense running through it. I did enjoy reading this book but wanted to get to the end to see what happens. I did not see the ending coming and I didn’t realise Overtown house is a real place it has made me what to do some research on it. I give this book 4 stars.
