Bad Magic and Whiskey by Melissa Jacobson
Thank you zooloosBT For letting me be part of this tour and reviewing this book. Bad Magic Whiskey is a historical fantasy genre. I really like the front cover; it’s very colorful and works really well with the title. When I read the blurb, I was hooked straight away, and I couldn’t wait to read this book. I found the writing style effortless to get into, and this is an entirely different read from what I normally read as well, so I was truly grateful to read something entirely different. This is the first book in the series, and I was hooked from the minute I read it, and I could not put it down, so I’m very excited for book 2. I really like the characters, and the narrator was Mick. She was a fantastic character, and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know her. I really liked the descriptions in the book and could really visualize it in my mind. The story is straightforward to get into, and I think you will be hooked from the minute you read it, because I was. Looking forward to book 5stars.n
Bio
Melissa Jacobson writes dark historical fantasy for anyone who
knows your story doesn’t end when you come of age, it’s just getting
interesting. Her work blends Western history, supernatural mystery,
and a touch of horror to explore second chances, redemption, and
what it means to claim power in a world determined to keep you in
your place.
Blurb
Mary Catherine "Mick" Kelly McClellan is officially dead — and she'd
like to keep it that way.
She was once a supernatural Pinkerton agent who made her living
from the last breath of the dying. She didn't leave that life so much
as survive it. What she built instead was small and hard-earned: a
homestead, a family, a life that didn't depend on draining power
from the dying.
Then someone starts using death magic in her backyard. Women
murdered, their power stripped. Livestock killed as a warning — or a
test. Mick knows this kind of magic intimately. She also knows that
whoever is wielding it is strong enough that stopping them will cost
her. The only question is how much. Her past. Her power. Maybe
everything she survived to build.
Bad Magic and Whiskey is the first novel in the Bad Magic Mick
Kelly series — dark historical fantasy set in an America where power
leaves scars and second chances are never clean

Thank you so much for being a part of this adventure x 🩷💜
