Living Life with Death by Sarah Jones

Thank you @zooloosBT For letting me be part of this tour and reviewing this book. Living Life of Death is a non-fiction genre and is 82 pages long. The book is about Sarah Jones's life, who works in the death industry. From the minute I opened the book, I was sucked in; it was a moving and powerful read. I felt it was very dark because it's about death, but I liked that. I was very fascinated by her job and all the things that she had to do dealing with dead bodies. Furthermore, I feel it was beautifully and elegantly written. Not only that, but I liked how the book was split into three sections; that was superb. Sarah Jones writing is very detailed, and I felt it was very poignant to me. I read it super fast, but I feel it’s a book I would probably read again. I felt like I could relate to Sarah Jones a little because I worked in the care setting and coming across death. Living a Life of Death is not just a non-fiction; it is written with some poetry in there as well. I thought this really worked throughout the book. Living Life in Death is something that I wouldn’t normally read because of my issues with death, but this was a remarkable read and fascinated me immensely. Five stars. From stillborn babies to one-hundred-year-old grandmas, a peaceful passing to a horrific homicide and a lot in between. What is it like to be alive while constantly dealing with death? Jones’ collection of essays and poems reveal the lessons she learned about being alive from those who are not and how working in the death industry shaped her everyday life. Written with deep introspection and a surprising amount of humor, Living Life with Death offers a unique perspective and a lesson for all readers.
