The Pod Couple by Adam Leigh

Thank you @lovebookstours.bsky.social #Ad #LBTCrew #BookTwitter #FreeReview #FreeBookReview #ReadAlong for being part of this readalong. The Pod Couple is a romance genre. I love the front color purple; it’s my favorite color, and I like the small pictures of the people and the microphone; they stand out. The story is written in 5 episodes. The first part is Chloe, the second part is Joe, the third part is podcasting, part four is conflict, and part 5 is the series finale. I really liked how the author did this, and it worked really well throughout the book. The narratives are Chloe, who is on a book tour to promote her book, and goes on radio to see Joe who also there to promote his memoir, but they have a past and have not seen each other for a while. This is a remarkable read that I loved and thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the characters Joe and Chloe. I did warm to them both instantly. The story is written elegantly and is engaging from start to finish. Strongly recommend reading. 5 stars. Blurb When Chloe Adams embarked on the publicity tour for her new book, she didn’t expect to appear on a live radio interview alongside Joe Harris promoting his memoir on the same subject. Relationships. Chloe had abruptly ended theirs thirteen years ago, and they have not spoken since. Now a successful journalist, she is married to an equally ambitious film director, while Joe, still single and floundering, has struggled to move on from his heartbreak. The spiky reunion leads to an offer they can’t refuse – hosting a podcast about failed relationships – and three months later they launch Ex-Communicate, exploring other people’s heartbreak while tiptoeing around their own complicated history. Their on-air chemistry makes the podcast a rapid hit, but as their professional success grows, they’re forced to confront the feelings they’ve buried for over a decade. Soon they realise there is a price to pay for discussing their emotions so openly in the pursuit of downloads. ‘The Pod Couple’ is a witty examination of our cultural obsession with failed relationships, exploring the uncomfortable truth that time rarely heals. It just makes things more complicated Author bio Adam Leigh read English at university and spent the next thirty years in a career in advertising, enjoying lots of long lunches and producing the odd campaign for toilet paper or dog food. His first novel, The Curious Rise of Alex Lazarus, was published in 2021. Adam has been married to his wonderful wife for over thirty years; she is his business partner and most uncritical fan. His three children are less forgiving. www.adamleighwriter.com
