#Ad #LBTCrew #BookTwitter #LBTContemporary For letting me part of this tour and reviewing this book. I absolutely adored Cat’ people, what a beautiful book. I was drawn to this book instantly due to the black cat on the front cover, which I adored and reminded me of my Rosie cat. The story is about a cat who is a stray and this did pull a heart string with me due to my Kiki cat being a stray made me wonder what her life was like when she was homeless. The story not just about a cat but about five other people who lives are intertwined because of Cat. There’s Núria who has her cats but also goes and feds the strays on her day off and Cat is one of them. It made me what to go do this for stray cats where I live. I did like Núria a lot. When she feeds cat she finds a post-it note but wonder who it’s from and his name is Collin, who is an author, Lilly who’s looking for her lost sister, Omar the postman and Bong who lost his wife and owns a shop. They all have their problems, but can they help each other? This is a gorgeous read that I read in a day. I could not put this book down. I was hooked, I loved the style of writing and the plot really worked. Furthermore, I must admit Cat was my favorite character and thought he was spectacular, and it did make me cry in places. This is a heart-warming read that will leave you with a smile and a fuzzy heart. There are six narratives who I mentioned above, and it’s lovely to hear from their perspectives of what’s going on in their life, and especially like cats' standpoint. Cat’ people is beautiful written and will hold a special place in my heart for a long time. I strongly recommend this book . 5 stars.
Blurb
A stray cat brings together five strangers over the course of one fateful summer in this heartwarming novel about love, found family and the power of connection.
Nuria, a single-by-choice barista with a little resentment for the “crazy cat lady” label is a member of The Meow-Yorkers, a group in Brooklyn who takes care of the neighbourhood’s stray cats. On her volunteering days she starts finding Post-it notes left by a secret admirer in an area where she feeds her favourite stray - a black cat named Cat. Like most felines, he is both curious and observant, so of course he knows who the notes are from. Nuria, however is clueless.
Are the notes from Collin, a best bestselling author and self-professed hermit with a weakness for good coffee? Are they from Lily, a fresh-out-of-high-school Georgia native searching for her long-lost half sister? Are they from Omar, the beloved neighbourhood mailman going through an early midlife crisis? Or are they from Bong, the grieving widower who owns Nuria's favourite bodega?
When Cat suddenly falls ill these five strangers find themselves bonding together in their desire to care for him, and discover that chance encounters can lead to the meaningful connections they've all been searching for.
