The Sister-in-Law by Joanne Ryan

Image
Thank you @rararesources for letting me be part of this tour and reviewing this book. The Sister in law is a psychological thriller and, as everyone one knows, I love this genre and this book did not let me down, it was brilliant. I was hooked from the start and I could not put it down. I read in one day. The sister-in-law is gripping read and there is great amount of tension and suspense running through the book. I thought I got the twist and I did, but didn’t get all of it right and was shocked with the ending. This book is a page turner. There are two narratives Megan whose husband (Rick) has died, and she is feeling lost until Emily walks in to the funeral pregnant and tells Megan she has been looking for her brother Rick for a while, and now he’s died. I did like the characters and I did like Megan and her mum Friend Elaine who is always there to help Megan through her sadness. The sister-in-law was straightforward to read, and the plot was brilliant. A fantastic read strongly r...

Image
Thank you @PhillFeathers @KellyALacey @lovebookstours #Ad #LBTCrew #BookTwitter for letting me be part if this tour and reviewing this book. Butterflies: the many lives of Lucia Porter has a beautiful front cover and is beautiful written. I found the story straightforward to read, and I did connect with the characters straight away. The story about Lucia who is brought up in a Catholic Church until she goes to university and meets Harry who is very different from her. Lucia has a sister who’s up bringing very different from hers, and I like the relationship they have together. Then Lucia loses her newborn son and is struggling and her life changes. I did like Lucy a lot and felt for her because she led a shelter life, and my heart went out to her when she lost her little boy too. The ending was very different from what I thought it would be, but I love it when an author does something entirely different from what you expect. This was an easy read, and it hooked me from the start u...

I absolutely adored this book. It’s a fantastic read and took me a couple of days to read and even made me cry at the end. The story about Tara, who divorced and moved to Coorie Castle craft center where she makes doll houses and then bumps into the estate manager, who is her old flame, Cal, and he is divorced with a daughter. I love the front cover. It’s beautiful, and I love the title. It works well with the story. This is the first book I have read by Lilac Mills and I will be reading more. Her books are entertaining, and I found her writing style very easy to get into straight the way. I like Cal and Tara a lot, and it was lovely to follow their story and how they interact with each other after not seeing each other for ten years. This is a lovely and heartwarming read that perfect for the romantic months we ...

Her writing is engaging and thrilling . The Window Lie is a fantastic read and once I started reading I was unable to put it down. The story at good pace that you are able to keep up with and there are different narratives: Anastasia who is a window and has moved in to the neighbourhood with her little girl then there is Jacqueline lives on the street and when she meets Anastasia she thinks it's her ex-husband wife who went missing long time ago. Nightingale & Co By Charlotte Printz, translated by Marina Sofia

Image
Thank you @coryBooks and @MarinaSofia for letting me be part of this tour and reviewing this book. Nightingale & Co is a crime / thriller genre. The story set in Berlin, 1961. The main character is Carla, who has been running a detective agency called Nightingale and co on her own. It can be challenging to do this alone and as a woman. Then her half sister turns up called Wallace and makes things bit harder for her. It took me a couple of chapters to get into the story, but as I read more, I thoroughly enjoyed the plot and the characters. I found Carla and Wallace very entertaining, and they work very well together in the book. I think Carla my favorite though, just because she seems to be sensible and knows what she wants in life where Wallace is very different from her sister. The story written elegantly and is set at a good pace you can keep up with. I can’t wait for the next book to see what new investigations they are doing and how they are getting on with each other. 4 stars...

Three Perfect Gifts by Anne Brooke

Image
Thank you @hyggebooktours for letting me be part of this tour and reviewing this book. Three perfect gifts is a contemporary fiction genre. I love the front cover and title. It works very well together. I would definitely be drawn to this book if it was in a bookshop because it’s my favorite color, and it’s got gardening on it. Wow, what a fantastic read. I absolutely adored this book and was so sad when I finished reading the Three perfect gifts. I must admit the first couple chapters I was founding it difficult to get into and then all of a sudden, I was lost in the characters and could not put the book down. The story about three very different women who meet at a Pilates class. There is Frankie who founds out she’s pregnant and this may cause problems in her marriage. Then there is Miranda who has cancer and is in her twenties and my favorite character was Golda who married a man that was abusive to her. This book is all about friendship and being supportive to each other and bei...

Sara My Sara: A Memoir of Friendship and Loss front cover is beautiful and simple which I would definitely be drawn to this book and would pick it up and purchase it. This memoir is beautiful written and pulls on your heart strings. Florence talks about her Mother and her friendship with Sara, who came to work with them but came more of a friend and part of the family. I like how Florence has set the pages out which is set like poetry and I found it easy to read this way. Florence is very brave to talk about her Mum and Sara illness and I like Florence is very honest with how she was feeling all the way through the memoir. This is a heartwarming read that will make you cry, but will also make you smile due to the lovely friendship between these women. Which is lovely to see and read. Sara MY Sara is a powerful read that is very difficult to put down due to ...

Best Mistake Ever by Christie McKellen

Image
Thank you @rararesources for letting me be part of this tour and reviewing this book. Best Mistake Ever is a romance genre. I love the front cover, it’s pretty, full of color and love. The title works well with the cover and the story. The story about Beatrice, who has a twin sister called Delilah and Delilah has just started a new job but then needs her sister to come and help her for a few days at her new job. The narratives are Beatrice and Jonah, who is Delilah's boss. Best Mistake Ever is a gorgeous read that you will not be able to put down. I read this in a day. It was a rapid and cute read for me. I loved the characters and did like Beatrice the most, but I would have liked to know more about what happened to Delilah that weekend as she was with her dad and Beatrice's best friend. Furthermore, I enjoyed reading the love story, and it did make me smile. The story is at a good pace you can keep up with and I like Christy McKellen's writing style. I was engaged f...

About Charlie By JM Langan

Image
Thank you @zooloosBT For letting me be part of this tour and reviewing this book. About Charlie is a contemporary genre. The story about Emma, who loses her husband Charlie to cancer and becomes a drug addict. The story set in the 1990s in London. There are plenty of themes in the book, which are loss, love, addiction, friends, and grief. I found this to be a very deep read and it took me a few days to read this book due to me not wanting to rush this book and take in everything that was going on with the characters. About Charlie is a fascinating read that gave me insight into Emma Grief and her addiction due to her loss. I felt for her so much and her journey trying to get clean and a world without her husband. I also felt for her friend Jason, who was trying to help Emma but knew he could no longer give her the care she needed because she needed proper help. That must be hard for Jason. I liked the art side of the story which flows through the book. The story is written exceedingly...

Not My Country by A.E Dean

Image
Thank you @zooloosBT for letting me be part of this tour and reviewing this book. Not my Country is an entirely different read, to what I would normally pick, but I am glad I read it because it is relevant to some of the issues we face in the world at the present. This is a fascinating read, and I read in one day. There are two narratives in the book. Louise, who is 70 years old who not feeling the best, decides to take one more road trip where she falls upon Adam, who in his twenties and is not from the UK and is trying to get back home. Not my country is written exceptionally well that hooks the reading in and the author A.E Dean has done her research very well on this topic. I liked both characters and my heart went out to them both and made me think about the world we are in and the people out there that are immigrants and are struggling at present. This is an eye-opening read that will pull at your heart. 4 stars. A.E’s Bio ‘A life spent living and working in the multicultural ...

Midnight Rainbows Over The Little Village is book 4 in the series, and you can read this as a standalone book, as I did. This is a romance genre which is great read to start the new year in. I read Midnight Rainbows Over The Little Village in one day. It is an amazing and heartwarming story. The story about Kim who had returned to the village and is working with her brother at present but not sure what she wants to do with her life until she meets Imogen who has moved to the village and sets up her own holistic therapy. This book made me aim to get back into my spiritual side, which I am truly grateful for. I was hooked straight away to the story, and it is beautifully written. This is an engaging read that is at a good pace and I loved the love story and the characters. They were awesome, and I felt like I had known them forever. This is the first book I have read by Ella Cook, and it will not ...
