Not My Country by A.E Dean
Thank you @zooloosBT for letting me be part of this tour and reviewing this book.
Not my Country is an entirely different read, to what I would normally pick, but I am glad I read it because it is relevant to some of the issues we face in the world at the present. This is a fascinating read, and I read in one day. There are two narratives in the book. Louise, who is 70 years old who not feeling the best, decides to take one more road trip where she falls upon Adam, who in his twenties and is not from the UK and is trying to get back home. Not my country is written exceptionally well that hooks the reading in and the author A.E Dean has done her research very well on this topic. I liked both characters and my heart went out to them both and made me think about the world we are in and the people out there that are immigrants and are struggling at present. This is an eye-opening read that will pull at your heart. 4 stars.

Blurb
England in the mid-2030s.
It’s no longer a good place to grow old, nor is it a good place to be young.
Louise is in her seventies and has travelled for most of her life, but there’s nothing left for her except the careful plans she’s made for one final journey.
Adam is in his mid-twenties with his whole life before him. He’s not from the UK, but his dream of a life there died shortly after arriving on British shores. Now he wants to go home.
Their journey begins when this mismatched pair are thrown together. They have to discover their common humanity and overcome the age gap as well as the wealth of cultural differences which divides them.
Can they do it, to bring about a successful conclusion to their respective journeys?
Thank you so much for being a part of the tour x
