Image
Thank you @rararesources For letting me be part of this tour and reviewing this book. The child we lost is literature fiction/family drama. The story is 300 pages long, and while I was reading this book, I felt very emotional reading this book and at times it did make my heart beat faster. It did make me cry in many places through the book. The stories are about Vicky and Marc, who lost their three-year-old boy, Josh, and they have another child called Ruby. Ruby was Josh is twin sisterand then Ruby thinks she’s seen him again. The story is very well written and beautifully written. If I’m being honest, I was hooked on the book immediately, and the story is about grief and loss, so it did pull at my heartstrings quite a bit. It is a gripping read, and you will be hooked from start to finish. I found the characters likable, and I did feel like I connected to the mom quite a bit. The Child We Lost is an entertaining read, and you will be in a mess by the end of reading this book. Exc...

Where the Heart Meets the Sea by Kimbra Drake

Image
Thank you @Kimberly_Engebrigtsen @LoveBooksTours @LBT.Crew For letting me be part of this tour and reviewing this book. Where the Heart Meets the Sea is a romance/literary fiction. I received a paperback of Where the Heart Meets the Sea, and the writing is the right size for me because I do often struggle with the font and the size being tiny, and this is perfect and doesn’t make my eyes squint, which is a bonus. I like the front cover; it’s stunning and makes me want to go and visit this place, which is set in Norway. Furthermore, I like when you open the paperback and there’s a map, and it gives you a bit of detail of what the places are called so you can flip back to the map when you're reading in the book, which is excellent. Not only that, but I thoroughly enjoyed the descriptions in the book. They were beautiful, and I could really visualize them in my mind. I found the story easy to get into from chapter 1 to the end. I like in this book the topics it hits on: romance, fri...

Image
Thank you @zooloosBT For letting me be part of this tour and reviewing this book. Back for Good is a contemporary genre and is 384 pages long. I love the front cover; it’s bright and colorful, and I like how her hair mixes in as the main feature of the cover. The story is about Sasha, and she doesn’t ask for a lot and feels unappreciated in her marriage, but then something happens to her that makes her life change, and then there is Zinnia, who is a trainee spirit guide that wants to help Sasha sort her life out. For me, this is the kind of story that I love, especially about spiritual areas. I instantly loved the book and was drawn in by the story and the plot. The writing is beautiful. Back for Good is easy to get into and a heartwarming story. You won’t be able to put it down. The story is at a reasonable pace for you to keep up with, which I liked. I really liked the characters and felt a bond with them and felt like I could relate to them. This is an engaging and unique read from...

Smile So Red and Other Tales of Madness by Mia Dalia

Image
Thank you@zooloosBT For letting me be part of this tour and reviewing this book. Smile So Red and Other Tales of Madness is a horror/short stories genre. I adore the descriptions that flow through each of these stories; they give so much atmosphere, and you can feel the chill down your spine while reading these stories. There are eight different stories, and they are all fabulous to read and just as terrifying as each other, but I think my favorite was the Blues for the Soul. I was just gripped from start to end with this one, probably more than the other books. Smiles So Red and Other Tales of Madness would be perfect for Halloween. I like the setting in each of the stories; they are dark and scary. All the stories are easy to get into and all as good as each other, and I think this is a book that you can keep reading and coming back to. I like horror, and this is a great horror. All all the main characters in each story were memorable and fabulous to get to know. I was drawn to th...

I'm listening when no one else is , like a self-help mental health book to me. Furthermore, I found this book to be straightforward to get into, and I realize what Iris Justice was saying, and it really resonated with me, and I like her writing style too . It was an intriguing and eye-opening read. I found it fascinating how she was describing everyday challenges that we may all go through, which range from loneliness and social media to health, and I felt this helped me read what Iris had put. An excellent title that really works with the book. Fascinating and entertaining read—five stars. Blurb: Loneliness has the audacity to strike us at the most sincere and unexpected moments, leaving us feeling weak and lifeless from within. It's not merely the lack of companionship or connection that evokes such feelings;...

The story is about a boy who washes up on a beach and meets David, who offers to help him and to help him figure out what’s happened to him. I was drawn to this book instantly. Furthermore, I can’t believe you're left on a cliffhanger, so I am desperate to read book 2. The story is written exceedingly well and will grip you from start to finish. The story is about two characters, Gus, who is an ex-Navy SEAL and is a carpenter. Who has his issues? This is a heartwarming story that will tug on your heartstrings. I like both characters a lot, and they both have depth, and it’s nice to see both of them develop throughout the book. The story is engaging from the start, and there are a few twists and turns in there that I didn’t see coming and enjoyed. The book can be spicy in parts, which is always good. I really like Fire Lake, and it seems like a magical and beautiful place to be, and I would love to go there. I also like the other characters that are not always in the books so much, but they seem like r...

The story about Alex who is 11-year-old, and it’s set in the 1990s. The story is about Alex and his life at home and his relationship with his father. Growing pains is inspired by true events. From the minute I picked up the book I was engrossed and could not put it down. This is an emotional story and I felt like I was on an emotional rollercoaster with Alex because of what he’s going through. I did like him as a character and there were times I just wanted to give him a big hug and tell him it’s ok. . Furthermore, I didn’t really like his dad or his sister that much just because of the way there were towards Alex. I did feel sorry for him but was glad that he had his mum at times. Image
Thank you @zooloosBT For letting me be part of this tour and reviewing this book. The Nest is book 1 in the series and is horror genre. The story set in 2025 and there are homeless people are disappearing, and the rats are not what they seem. The Nest is differently not for the faint-hearted. From the first page I was hooked it’s definitely a page turner. The story is gruesome and dark from start to finish which I did enjoy. I don’t like rats at all, so this book made me hate them even more. I do like Conrad Jones is writing style and his descriptions you can really visualize it in your head. There is a great amount of suspense and tension running through the book. The Nest is excellent horror book that keeps you on tenterhooks all the way through the book. 5 stars. Dark Cloud on Naked Creek by Cindy O'Quinn

Image
Thank you @zooloosBT For letting me be part of this tour and reviewing this book. Dark Cloud on Naked Creek is a horror/thriller genre/. I was glued to this book straight away and was fascinated by the story and the character Afton, who is the main person in the story. Afton works as a nurse in a men’s prison, but things keep happening to her in her dreams that have to do with folk people and folklore. The story is written beautifully, and it kept me on the edge of my seat all the way through. The story is at a good pace, and this is an intriguing and thoughtful read because I was trying to work out what’s going to happen to Afton and the other characters all the way through the book. I found this to be an entertaining read, and it was lovely to read something entirely different from what I normally read. If you like horror and folklore, this book is different for you. 5 stars. Bio Cindy O’Quinn is an Appalachian writer. She grew up in the beautiful mountains of West Virginia. She w...

Under Vixens Mere by Kit Fielding

Image
Thank you @rararesources For letting me be part of this tour and reviewing this book. Under Vixen's Mere is a contemporary genre. I like the front cover of the canal boat; it looks really peaceful. The story is about a houseboat community, and there are numerous characters that are in this story, and their lives are all tangled together. I like that there is a map of the canal and the places around it sitting in the book; that’s quite handy to keep flicking to. I found the story straightforward to get into, and I did enjoy getting to know the characters, even though occasionally I got a little confused, but that’s to do with my brain, not the book. Furthermore, I think the characters I related more to were Lorrie and Milly the Crystal Lady, and I did like her a lot. Likewise, I like them both as characters and enjoyed following their story probably more than the others. The story is really gripping and entertaining to the end. It made me want to get on a canel boat after readin...

The Heart-Shaped Box by Lucy Kaufman

Image
Thank you @rararesources For letting me be part of this tour and reviewing this book. The Heart-Shaped Box is book one in the series. I really like the front cover; the black and red work really well, especially for a psychological genre because it’s dark gothic read. From the minute I opened this book, I was glued to this novel. It was absolutely fascinating. I felt like I was omntenterhooks all the way to the end. I’ve never read any of Lucie's books before, but I definitely will. The story is written elegantly well, and I loved her descriptions in the book; they really worked, and I could imagine them in my head, which made the book even better experience because I felt like I was there and could really visualise it all. . There is a significant amount of tension and suspense running through the book. I absolutely can’t wait for book 2, but it did not take me long to read this book at all—just an hour.
