What Survives by M. Amelia Eikli

Thank you @ameliabilities @KellyALacey @lovebookstours #Ad #LBTCrew #BookTwitter for letting me be part of this tour and reviewing this book. What Survives has a beautiful front cover The story is about after Covid when she has not seen anybody for ages. She has a dog called Scram who she finds on her travels and keeps her company as she is on pilgrimage and there seems to be no one else about. I found What Survivies to be a very dark and emotional read that left me feeling very sorry for the lady and what she goes through in her life. The story is in first person and she talks about her past and then goes to the future where she is on her pilgrimage. What Survives is a heartbreaking but fascinating read that will probably stay with you for a while. M. Amelia Eikli writes very well and her descriptions work well through the book and I could visualise it all in my head. The story has some tough topics that could be upsetting to some people :, loneness, the death of her children and sexual assault. I did like the character and did feel for her walking on her own and trying to survive. This is a great story that I think alot of people will want to read. Out to buy now. 5 stars Blurb After a devastating global pandemic, the world has gone quiet. She hasn’t seen another living soul for weeks, just the piles of corpses lining the streets. With an enthusiastic dog named Scram, a photo of her wife, and the memory of an old friend at her side, she hikes across Europe to answer one question: has her family survived? An unsettling presence watches her from the shadows. As she walks through empty cities being reclaimed by nature, she grows less certain that the yellow-eyed creature is just a figment of her imagination. What Survives takes readers on a gripping journey of grief, resilience, and the relentless pursuit of life. Author Bio: M.
