Sarah Needs Saving by DCR Bond

Thank you @LiterallyPR and @DCRBondAuthor for letting me be part of this tour and reviewing this book. Sarah Needs Saving is set in Devon and is a thriller/ family Drama. As I started to get to know Sarah it came across quite quickly that she was not happy with her life and I did feel sorry for her. Sarah is married to a professor and on the outside they seemed to be perfect but it is not all it seems. The story was engaging and interesting. Sarah Needs Saving is a very different read from what I normally read but I am glad I read it. A good read that is set at a good pace. I like the front cover with the colour blue and Sarah sitting on blocks and they falling, abit like her life. 4 stars. Bio DCR Bond (Debbie) was born in London, but grew up Jamaica, then Zambia, and dimensions of this international upbringing feature in her writing. As a child she was encouraged to write and wanted to nurture her talent and become a journalist. She never did; instead, she studied law, then qualified as an accountant and worked for twenty years in the City. She’s not sure she ever really enjoyed that job. Now freed from the shackles of the day job, DCR Bond has reverted to her childhood passion and loves her new career. Her women's fiction novels are light-hearted, visual, fast-paced, and easy to read, with strong credible and relatable characters. When Debbie is not writing, she can be found playing tennis (badly), bridge (a little better), in the gym, walking her dogs on Exmoor, or tending her garden - she loves cooking her own produce for friends and family. She lives with her husband in rural Devon, surrounded by their miniature bull terriers and small flock of free-range hens. Blurb Sarah’s the wife of an eminent Exeter University professor and mother to a young child. Respectable, middle England. She’s a multi tasker. A doer. Always busy. Always craving the approval of others. Giving. Caring. Innocent in deed and spirit. Honest by nature. But Sarah’s facing a decision. Tell the truth or lie. She thinks she’s though it through. Justified her actions on the moral compass. So she tells a lie she knows she can manage. Sarah battles under the illusion of control, making this engaging, intriguing women's fiction novel into a rollercoaster ride as she lives with the consequences of her decisions.

Hi Emma, Thank you very much for reviewing Sarah Needs Saving. It's really appreciated and I'm pleased you liked it. It's fascinating for me to hear back about how you (and others, as many wonderful people have now read/commented) have reacted to the characters, especially Sarah, the protagonist. So many different reactions to that personality in those circumstances and her story. It's an interesting insight for me and helpful for my continued quest to write, to improve and to entertain readers. Once again, thank you, I really do appreciate your time and your review. All the best debbie (DCR Bond)
