Expectations by B. Hayes

Thank you, @ZooloosBT and @OutdoorHaze for being part of this tour and reviewing this book. I found Expectations a fascinating read and is different from what I normally read. It is nice when you come across something different from what I would normally read and I did enjoy reading Expectations a lot. I like the front cover and the story is well written, and I liked following Chris, Dale and Jamie's life in high school and when they graduate the challenges they all face. Great read 5 stars. Book Blurb Chris, Jamie, and Dale have largely kept to themselves since starting school. High school isn’t the high- point of their lives; it’s a stepping stone. Through their time in school they’ve each found what they enjoy doing but largely they have been on their own. From freshman year on they depended on each other to find their way through everything that makes school hard. Now, as soon to be graduating seniors, things are changing, and the group dynamic has shifted. Jamie and Dale have found each other, and Chris is left to find his way. Ultimately, the path each is called to hinges on the expectations they have for themselves, each other, and the world around them. For Jamie and Dale, it’s what it means to be a couple. For Chris, it means something much darker, intriguing and ultimately violent. Author Bio For the past seventeen years Brendan "B.T." Hayes has been a high school English teacher in the Chicago suburbs. Without exception, his favorite class to teach has been Creative Writing, which affords him a steady flow of reading material. A couple of years ago, some students challenged him to write an example of an assignment; and, as he was writing it, he remembered how much he enjoyed the writing process (that story, heavily edited, was published on the Ultrarunning Magazine website). Based on that experience, he decided to try something longer, which is why he submitted to Aesthetic Press. He has a Bachelor’s degree in English Education from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a Master’s degree in Literacy Education from Northern Illinois University. His background in education has helped him make his characters realistic, well rounded, and relatable.
